WoW Forever leveling guide

1–60 · first point at level 10 · 51 points at cap · beta Sep 17 – Oct 21 · launch Nov 4, 2026

The 1 to 60 road

Same skeleton, new everything else

WoW Forever keeps vanilla's leveling skeleton — 60 levels, a talent point per level from 10, dungeons and questing as the spine — and rebuilds around it: over 1,000 quests including the Skyborne starting experience, 9 dungeons, and talent trees where most talents changed vs Classic. The beta runs September 17 to October 21, 2026; launch is November 4.

Why path your talents early

With 51 points and nine rows per tree, every point spent while leveling is a point you do not get back until endgame. Knowing which rows open when — and which of the new beta talents sit in rows 1–2 — turns 60 levels of small choices into a plan.

Talent point pacing, level by level

Points arrive one per level from 10 (level − 9 total). Each row opens at level 10 + 5 × (row − 1) and needs 5 × (row − 1) points already in that tree.

LevelTalent pointsRow unlockedPoints needed in treeWhat it means
10 1 Row 1 — First point — row 1 only
15 6 Row 2 5 Row 2 opens, if you fed the tree
20 11 Row 3 10 Row 3 opens, if you fed the tree
25 16 Row 4 15 Row 4 opens, if you fed the tree
30 21 Row 5 20 Row 5 opens, if you fed the tree
35 26 Row 6 25 Row 6 opens, if you fed the tree
40 31 Row 7 30 Row 7 opens, if you fed the tree
45 36 Row 8 35 Row 8 opens, if you fed the tree
50 41 Row 9 40 Row 9 opens, if you fed the tree
60 51 — — Full budget — every row you gated for is live

Both gates always apply: a row 7 talent needs level 40 and 30 points in its tree. Locking a row early by spreading points across trees is the classic leveling mistake — Forever keeps that rule exactly.

New talents you can grab while leveling

Brand-new Forever talents sitting in rows 1–2 of each tree — reachable in the first 20 levels. From the live beta trees:

  • Hunter

✦ Focused Fire — Beast Mastery, row 2

    ✦ Careful Aim — Marksmanship, row 2

    ✦ Improved Tracking — Survival, row 1

  • Priest

✦ Power in Light — Discipline, row 1

    ✦ Twin Disciplines — Discipline, row 1

    ✦ Holy Precision — Discipline, row 2

  • Warlock

    ✦ Malediction — Affliction, row 2

    ✦ Soul Harvesting — Affliction, row 2

    ✦ Improved Drains — Affliction, row 2

  • Shaman

    ✦ Mental Dexterity — Enhancement, row 2

    ✦ Mindfulness — Restoration, row 2

  • Druid

    ✦ Genesis — Balance, row 1

    ✦ Nature's Majesty — Balance, row 2

  • Paladin

    ✦ Holy Conduit — Retribution, row 2

  • Rogue

    ✦ Dirty Tricks — Subtlety, row 2

Warrior and Mage are the exceptions: their new talents all sit at row 3 or deeper, so the first two rows play exactly like Classic while leveling — the rework pays out at 25+. Every card above opens in that class's calculator, where the level selector shows you the earliest build that reaches it.

Questions about leveling in WoW Forever

When do talent points start in WoW Forever? +

Same cadence as Classic: your first talent point at level 10, one more per level after that — 51 points at the level 60 cap. The calculator's level selector enforces exactly this cap, so you can plan a build at any level.

What level does each talent row unlock? +

Row N requires level 10 + 5 × (N − 1) — so row 2 opens at level 15, row 3 at 20, up to row 9 at level 50 — AND 5 × (N − 1) points already spent in that same tree. Both gates must be true; the pacing table above lists every milestone.

Is leveling in WoW Forever different from Classic? +

The shape is the same 1–60 road with the same point cadence, but the content around it is new: over 1,000 quests including the Skyborne starting experience, 9 dungeons, and heavily reworked talent trees. Your build decisions differ from Classic even where the pacing does not — check your class on the Class changes page before committing points.

Can I plan a leveling build in the calculator? +

Yes. Open your class calculator, set the level dropdown to your current level, and the planner caps your points the way the game does. The share link carries the level with it, so a leveling build you post on a forum loads exactly as you specced it.
