Walk on Air
Glide downward through the air for 10 sec while controlling your direction of travel.
Skyborne is the headline addition of the Forever preview: a race that exists on both factions at launch. The High Order sides with the Alliance, the Windshaper with the Horde. Their shared racials are movement- and utility-flavored, and each order keeps one signature ability the other does not have.
Skyborne can be Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, Druid, Mage or Shaman — everything except Paladin, Priest, Warlock. Druids in particular get a second race per faction for the first time: Night Elf High Order and Tauren Windshaper are no longer the only Druids in the game.
Between Skyborne and the six new race/class combinations (Undead Paladin, Dwarf Shaman, Human Hunter, Gnome Priest, Orc Mage, Troll Warlock), Forever is the first time every class has more than the Classic roster to pick from. Full racial cards for all 10 races are on the racials page.

Skyborne is the new race added in the WoW Forever preview (Blizzard’s Classic+ take on vanilla). It is the first race that ships on both factions at once, split into two orders: the High Order joins the Alliance and the Windshaper joins the Horde. It was announced at BlizzCon in September 2026 and is playable in the beta running September 17 – October 21, 2026.
Skyborne can be 6 of the 9 classes: Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, Druid and Mage as High Order, and Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, Druid and Shaman as Windshaper. The missing classes are Paladin, Priest, Warlock — there is no Skyborne Paladin, Priest or Warlock in the beta data.
Faction, and one racial. Both orders share Walk on Air (glide), Elemental Insight (+5% damage to Elementals) and Wind Blessed (1% Haste). The High Order gets Read Ley Line — a big health and mana regeneration burst that lasts 15 minutes when cast near a ley line. The Windshaper gets Skysight instead — +10% movement and mounted speed, also extended near an elemental convergence.
They lean utility and mobility rather than raw combat power. Walk on Air is the headline — permanent-access glide changes how you move through the world while leveling — and 1% Haste touches everything your character does. But there is no on-demand burst racial like Orc Blood Fury or Troll Berserking, so min-maxers chasing damage cooldowns will still look at the classic races.
